Integrating Sustainability into Property Management - Core Sustainability Provisions Launch

19 September 2016

Managing agents have a critical role to play in improving the sustainability performance of the buildings they manage. They are an intrinsic part of the day-to-day management of commercial property and often at the ‘coal face’ of addressing sustainability in the built environment.

Yet approaches in how sustainability is incorporated into property management services have not always been consistent throughout the industry. Responses have typically been as a result of individual client demands which has led to a wide variation in how different managing agents approach sustainability.

In an attempt to create a more consistent approach, members of the BBP Managing Agents Partnership have come together to produce a core set of sustainability provisions which they feel should form the foundation of how sustainability is incorporated into any property management service offering.

The 19 September 2016 saw the launch of the BBP Managing Agents Partnership’s first publication; Integrating Sustainability into Property Management: Core Provisions.
