21 October 2019

The Better Buildings Partnership is excited to announce the addition of BMO Real Estate Partners to its team, bringing the number of partner organisations up to 31.

BMO manage £6.4 billion* in real estate assets across Europe. BMO Real Estate can trace its heritage back to its Quaker origins and Friends Provident. Its parent group, now BMO Global Asset Management, has a long history and pedigree in the ethical investment space, having been the first to launch an ethical stewardship fund back in 1984.

Today, BMO UK Property Fund, managed by BMO Real Estate Partners, was the first UK property fund to achieve recognition from the Living Wage Foundation, something they are keen to expand to other client funds under their management. They received the Gold Award and Most Improved Award in 2019 for compliance with EPRA Sustainability Best Practice Recommendations.

“BMO Real Estate Partners is committed to the ongoing development and integration of environmental, social and governance issues into property investment practice, recognising the crucial contribution these factors will have on delivering sustainable returns for our clients," said Andrew Szyman, Head of Sustainability at BMO Real Estate Partners. "We see our participation in the BBP as instrumental in offering collaborative insight into the implementation of best practice and improved standards not only for our own benefit, but also for our wider industry.”
