About Us
“The BBP are a small but mighty team. The impact of the work that you do is hugely relevant and significant. The member input and collaboration that the BBP Executive enable results in practical outputs that are changing our industry for the better.”
Emily Hamilton, Chief Sustainability Officer at Savills Investment Management
Our Purpose
The BBP is a collaboration of leading property owners who are working together to improve the sustainability of commercial buildings.
-
Enable market transformation through sustainability leadership and collaboration.
-
Improve professional understanding through knowledge sharing.
-
Develop common approaches with our members, stimulating the property industry to deliver buildings that perform better.
These aims guide everything we do - from co-creating practical tools with members that deliver real impact, to shaping how the commercial real estate market defines and measures sustainability.
What we do
- Collaborate: Convening members through targeted workstreams and working groups to solve shared challenges.
- Create & Share Tools: Co-developing tools and guidance that help embed sustainability in everyday practice.
- Benchmark & Improve: Providing access to tools such as the Real Estate Environmental Benchmark (REEB) and Net Zero Carbon Framework to measure performance and accelerate progress.
“The BBP continues to be a powerful and positive force for the necessary change that we need, now more than ever, within the industry. We have benefited enormously from being a BBP member, whether through participating in roundtables to informing how we embed sustainability across our business operations.”
Jane Wakiwaka, Head of Sustainability, Real Estate Management (REM) Ltd.
Our Vision
In January 2025, BBP launched its 2030 Vision, setting out an ambitious agenda for the commercial property sector and defining how BBP and its members will deliver on it.
Co-created with the BBP Board and members, Vision recognises the urgent need to tackle the sector’s biggest sustainability challenges and focuses on delivering actionable solutions, scaling best practice, and driving industry-wide transformation.
To achieve this, BBP will focus on three guiding principles:
- Amplify – extending the reach and influence of BBP’s projects to demonstrate how leadership drives market transformation.
- Embed – integrating pragmatic tools and standards into everyday decision-making.
- Pioneer – evolving our programmes to address emerging challenges and shape future priorities.
Together, these principles reflect BBP’s commitment to collaboration, innovation and measurable impact -accelerating change for the benefit of the whole industry. Read our Vision in detail here.
“It is heartening to see, through this 2030 Vision, BBP doubling down on its efforts to amplify its impact and strengthen its role in upskilling the market as we face the urgency of the climate crisis.”
Janine Cole, Sustainability and Social Impact Director, GPE and Chair of the Better Buildings Partnership
“I highly value our engagement with the BBP and the expertise, collaboration and resources we get as part of our membership.”
