Through its seven EPC procurement principles, this document aims to provide property owners and managers with a clear and practical framework for navigating the EPC process. By improving the quality of EPCs, unlocking access to critical underlying data, and aligning assessments with broader asset management and decarbonisation strategies, these principles support more informed and impactful decision-making.
The seven EPC procurement principles, introduced first to BBP and MAP Members, are:
- Certification Scope – Defining certification scope
- Data In – Ensuring input data integrity and quality
- Data Out – Capturing a broader set of EPC outputs
- Levels and Calculation Tools – Setting assessment levels and selecting tools
- Software Products – Choosing assessment software products
- Assessors – Using high-quality assessors
- MEES Strategy and Net Zero Audits – Aligning EPCs with MEES and net zero strategy
