Fit-out for the Future: a Guide for the Industry

28 April 2016

Fitting out a shop or office is a great opportunity to communicate a company’s brand and culture to the people who work there and those who come to visit. It has a real impact on their experience of being in the space, whether they want to keep coming back and how comfortable and productive they feel when they’re there.

Thinking about sustainability at this key stage can have numerous benefits to any business, their staff and customers including improved productivity, wellbeing and health, improved customer experience; reduced operational costs; reduced carbon emissions and environmental footprint. It can also help the landlord to manage legislative risks and retain property values.

So often however it is a missed opportunity for landlords, tenants and the industry at large. To tackle this challenge we're working on a Sustainable Fit-out Toolkit for offices and retail units.

To support us in this processes, on 28 April, we held an event in partnership with Green Sky Thinking 2016 to present our current thinking to date and receive feedback from the industry.
