Energy Benchmarks for Large Shopping Centres

The BBP has partnered with Revo to develop a reliable ‘whole building’ energy benchmark for large UK Shopping Centres. The project is helping to drive the improvement of energy performance in large shopping centre assets and is supporting shopping centre owners in complying with regulatory requirements. The initial findings from the project can be found in the May 2026 public release, with 70% of the UK's largest shopping centres participating.

The Real Estate Environmental Benchmark (REEB) is a publicly available operational benchmark of environmental performance for commercial property in the UK. It is one of the only benchmarks based on the performance of buildings ‘in-use’.
