Investor Engagement
Our approach in this area is focused on supporting our members in their engagement with investors on sustainability issues and providing them with the tools to ensure that sustainability risks and opportunities are reflected in their investment decision-making processes.
Our Work
Our programme of work on investment includes:
- An investor working group that meets on a regular basis to share knowledge and practical experience of sustainability.
- Support for GRESB - in addition to providing detailed feedback on the annual GRESB consultation, we support our members in their completion of the GRESB survey, providing practical guidance and channeling queries to GRESB so that all members can benefit from their feedback.
- A suite of practical guidance supporting the integration of sustainability into the investment process and a standardised industry approach to sustainability considerations. The BBP Acquisitions Sustainability Toolkit includes a Sustainability Investment Checklist, setting out the information which should be requested and reviewed as part of the due diligence process, and a 100-Day Review, setting out the key questions that should be considered post-transaction to ensure a smooth transition into on-going management.
Future work will also include the further development of the toolkit to include a Disposal Sustainability Plan.
